Working together

Initial consultation:

It is an opportunity to meet each other and understand what you are seeking from therapy and what would be the most appropriate kind of therapy for you (open ended or short term: normally between 12 and 16 sessions) . It is also an opportunity to see if you feel comfortable to continue working together as the therapeutic relationship is very important.

Sessions:

Once we have agreed to work together and a time and day, sessions will take place every week on the said day and time at the Kensington Counselling Practice on Gloucester Road or online by Zoom. Sessions are 50mn long. I kindly ask that you arrive no more than a couple of minutes early, as there isn’t a waiting area in our practice.

Confidentiality:

I am bound by our ethical codes (BACP and FCP) It is important to understand that our work is confidential. Working as a psychotherapist, it is standard good practice to receive supervision, so some thoughts about our sessions will be shared with my supervisor who is also bound by confidentiality.

Cancellations:

Should you have difficulties coming one week, I will try to find a suitable time within that week to see you, however, it might not always be possible.

Payment:

Fees are set for our sessions when we agree to work together .  I believe that access to therapy should be opened to all so I have limited openings for reduced fees sessions for students and people on very low income. Fees are reviewed annually.

Payment can be done by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
